MAPPIMATIONS FINALE

The mappimations assignment will close with a charrette that will serve as a segue to the next assignment and a final presentation for open-source review.

DESIGN CHARRETTE due Friday, November 3 at 5:30 pm.

From your mappimation assignment, create 4 final still maps that clearly communicate the information presented as an instruction set in which the potential for re-shaping the world (physically, socially, culturally, etc) is revealed. Include text, legend and key as necessary.

Using traditional maps, create a collage-map of the new world presented in your mappings. Select a traditional map types to create 4 new-world maps. Map types may be road, political, land use, shaded relief, weather, or any other or combination thereof. Include in your sequence of images a before/after relationship between the world and the new-world. Correct changes in the traditional maps to reflect the new-world map your mappings have suggested.

Using aerial photographs found on the web, or google earth, create 2 aerial photograph collages of your new-world.

Map-collages and photo-collages can be at any scale, but one must be able to understand location and scale relative to the larger mappimation maps.
